Where has the time gone again!!!

I know, I know!!!

One of those things again, been really busy at work which is not helping, thankfully off this week, so should be able to catch up.

I ended up buying a load of BCE Templates as I think they are soooooo fab. This is card that I made and used the card dancers CD from Card Creations. Printed the spotted on to 300gsm card and the stripe also on to 300 gsm,  The border is printed onto 200gms card and then cut to fit, and then put thin black ribbon down both edges.  The image has then been put in the centre.  Have been staring at it for a while, but think that it does not need anything else!

Made this for my sister, in a way getting my own back on her for some of the cards that she sends me.  This is from Joanna Sheen's Viva La Diva CD, which is interactive.

Made this delicious card from a sample down load from Crafters Companion, I turned it into a easel card using cream card that I used to make my own wedding invitations from, the frame was cut out using my Cricut and the accents essentials cartridge, the main image was put onto a square of the same base card, and then the gems added.

Made some wedding stationery samples to be entered into a completion, the favour box outside is plain but have printed roses onto the acetate before cutting

I also made a triangle favour box; I printed cherubs onto the card and then left the acetate windows plain so it did not detract from the box.

Hope you like, have fun

Where has the time gone

Where has the time gone, it’s one of those things that you mean to do something and next thing another month has gone!

Made some chocolate mice for work, used dark chocolate and then use fondant icing mixed to a thick consistency and filled the mice, delicious, I made Baileys and peppermint.  I had already tried rose water; they went down very well at work!  I am aiming to start selling them in the shop shortly!  I have bought some other flavouring but I need to stop eating the chocolate, it is soooo creamy!

Because I did not publish last month I have done two different techniques.  This one is from Leanne Chivers from Crafters companion, if found this ages ago and saved it and then forgot about it.  I found it when clearing up the external hard drive!

The other technique is a box frame card, was searching the internet to figure out how to do something similar and came across this on YouTube. I had just received the MCS paper craft library of 3, 4 & 5 and thought that Violet would look fab.  I printed onto 200 gsm card and then decoupage Violet; I then printed the background directly onto the card and added ribbon.  Violet was put onto silver mirror card.  The sentiment I made myself using Inkscape. Had this for ages but never really used until a wee tutorial came out in a magazine and away I went.  Been able to create my own png images which give a transparent background.

Used the same technique for my father in law’s birthday, (which was late!) using peter rabbit.

I made the following for my mother in law’s birthday next week, I got the paper craft inspirations which had a free cd with some docrafts images, so I picked daisy.  The paper is put onto gold mirror card, then using the cuttlebug swiss dots and nesties and then made another nestie in more paper from the disc before putting Daisy on. I then added a flower with a pearl gem.  The gem is not through the paper but stuck on with a glue dot.

Really starting to enjoy crafting again,
Until April.     bye

ops and ops again

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope you have all had a good time over the festive period, been rather busy at work and lost my mojo for the crafting, so sorry for the delay.   We were also without internet for a month, we changed our provider and due to delivery issues at our local office plus the weather it took a month for us to get the router!  Boy was I climbing up the wall and having to go over to in-laws to get access was not helping. We have had a couple of trips to the vets with Bluey, somehow his eye got infected, but seems to be recovering now, the vet could not get hold of him to exam his eye properly the first time so had to do it from a distance, the vet said that Bluey was too fast for him, and that he was usually good at catching them was well! And then about 3 weeks later we had to go back as it healed and then got worst but thankfully Bluey is making a good recovery.  Menace and Bluey did enjoy their trip to the vets, and Santa was good to them at Christmas.  We also had two funerals within the space of two weeks, one a friend and the other a distant relation just before Christmas.

I am determine that this year I really take off on the craft side of things and develop the web site and do a few craft fairs, need to revive my interest in crafting again.
Bought some new carts for the Cricut Expressions from Create and Craft, create a critter and walk in the garden and created a couple of cards with that, the first one is from walk in the garden and used an A4size card due to the size I printed off!  Made ladybirds and cornflowers, and then “thanks a bunch”.  The other card has beehives and a couple of bees.

Found a template that I’d like in January’s Quick cards made easy and instead of cupcakes (could not find any bigger ones than the Martha Stewart stamp and punch) got My Craft Studio “a bit of folk” cd and made Russian dolls instead.

I got the Kraft Konstruction CD from My Craft Studio and made one up using the pre-cut templates, for the box, I cut the middle square out, put in an acetate window and then a fine line of glitter around the cut edge.

Been busy knitting as well, discovered the can can wool and love it! Here are a couple of scarves that I have made using the wool, love some of the colours, especially the red!

Until the next time.
Chou!

ops, been a long time.....

Yes, I know.  the usual, work. doesn't help that I was unwell and ended up in hospital but thankfully not in for long an hopefully on the mend.

Here are some cards just been done. My oldest niece just graduated from college and just got a job in England, so made this card for her. I used my cricut expression which I got last year, and the everyday paper dolls as the cartridge. The carts is good, has spacemen, fireman, holidays fantastic!

A girl at work had her 27th birthday last week and I made this for her at the last minute, the image is from cuddly buddly free images. The papers from Crafters Kitchen which Jak Heath was offering as a freebie. I already had the punch edging done as a sample try of the Martha Stewart punch.

Had a load of cards to make this month, my uncle in law had his 75th birthday, he had been in hospital recently and so was not allowed to do much but I incorporated his two favourite hobbies, using the flipping men range, this took ages to come out with, mainly do with the background and trying to get it right, thankfully my mother in law was able to come up trumps!

This popcorn card was for my brother in law, again for his love of football!

I entered the competition for national card maker of the year, so here are my entries.  Hope you like them!!!

I promise to try harder not to leave it too long!!

Back again

Sorry it has taken sooooo long, went away for a weeks holiday back for two weeks and then off work, went camping firstly in North Berwick so that we could see my sister, weather good, had the new tent up for the first time, withstood the wind well, hardly any rain!  Back to work and was busy trying to catch up, and then off for two.  We went to Balado for National Feast of Lanterns hosted by the Scottish Region of the Camping and Caravaning Club. Saw David Belemany as he is the club president.  They had some good acts, one of them being a group called "Them Beatles" they were great, they get really in the act. Downside the rain, we were going to say until Monday but got fed up with the rain and cold so came home.

Finally here is the card I made for my nephew, thought I had taken a pictures of the card but could not find the picture so had to get the card back again to get the picture done!
most of his cards were football themed! what a surprise!  I got the clouds off clip art, made the backing paper myself using word and the same with the sentiment.  The image came from Pollycraft blog as a freebie, but should be available to buy in her shop.

Found this picture of a card I did for my mother in law for her birthday earlier in the year, I have been trying to use stamps (seeing I have a HUGE collection) and do something different

Took a picture of the final card that I made for Ellie for her birthday, she was doing ballet classes but is now going to acting classes with her best friend Harrie (yes that is her proper name), I got the image free from Cuddly Buddly part of the lily boo designs.  Orange is her favourite colour and used pro markers to colour in. My sister was totally amazed that I had coloured this in. I then used my cuttlebug to make the gold diamond using embossed card, and then used orange gems to finish it off. The backing was printed directly onto the card and glittered the necklace.

Ellie was good in not opening her card, but her friend did, but she loved it.

Any way, need to go.

Rain rain go away and come back another day

Sorry did not post after Letham but been busy and at work and not been feeling too good either!

Good news at work, I have been awarded a deputy team leader position, so very happy with that.

Letham went well even though it was raining a lot!! Was up early and out of the house by 8.30 am, Martin stayed at home and was at church at 9.30 am and surprised his mum and dad with his appearance!

The main event in the village square got cancelled and moved to the village hall, there were a few cancellations in the hall so got a bigger table for the same price, was really glad though. Sold a lot of cards this time, people loved the nappy cakes but unfortunately no-one bought, mainly as they did not know what sex the baby was!

these are better than the first lot, as I bought cello from ebay, and managed to make my own labels, even putting perforation on where the price was so that you could tear that off!

Made this fantastic easel card, using the free papers by Nancy Watt, that came with Making Cards magazine,

Made this card using the My Craft Studio and using images, printed the background directly on to the card and the man and the trim above and below him was done directly on to the acetate,
one man at the fair was really enthusiastic about the card to his mate!

Very seriously looking at doing a fair in Perth in November in time for Christmas, have to look at a few options first of all.

Somebody on money saving forum showed people how she made some fantastic wedding invites, so went onto PDA card to order the required elements so hopefully should have some new designs to show.

Making a card for my youngest nephew who is into football, got a free digi stamp from Pollycraft she regularly give freebies away on a friday, will post the card when done.

Got the new Popcorn platimum collection and Souffle cd from Crafters Companion and made cards for neices who just had their birthdays the only change I would of made is that instead of putting all tape on the tummy front, I should of curved the paper and just put a small foam stamp on and made it look more 3D. Here is the other one

Oldest nephew had his 16th birthday recently, hope he likes the card, found my copy of Making Cards, men magazine special that they did and used that jsut making a few changes

any way better go and finish that football card!

another busy time

Hi

Not been uploading much lately, sorry, but I am a civil servant you know!

Was away for a long weekend over the bank holiday in Inverness with hubby! Got some good news on return though, I won the crafters companion competition, got my parcel today and here is a picture of Jemima she is fab, I also got the new glitter sprays as well, congratulations to the other person who won as well.

Had to make a quick card for my oldest niece who was 21, can't believe that she is that old! here is another shot
also made a money wallet for her as well using the forever friends

As promised here are the two cards I submitted to Fee Jee Comps, Woof

and frog

and no he is blurry for a reason! I actually printed the frog onto acetate and then hang him in front of his printed image!

Also made a card using the new popcorn kids, along the shutter style card I did and here is some more views

Anyway better go, making things for the Letham Fair at July, trying to various items apart from cards, and not getting on too badly!
